I'm so glad you're here. I'm Jojo, and this little shop, Honey Rooted, is a piece of my heart that I'm so excited to share with you.
I've always been the kind of person who finds joy in the messy parts of life. You know, the burnt cookies that end up being the best story, the houseplants you have to cheer on, and stopping to pet every single dog on a walk. I've just always believed in the magic of being "perfectly imperfect."
This past year, life really put that belief to the test.
Back in February, my amazing husband, Timmy, was diagnosed with colon cancer, and our world just kind of turned upside down. The whole journey through his surgery, chemo, and recovery has been the hardest, messiest thing we've ever faced.
But something really beautiful happened in the middle of all that chaos. I started noticing the small things in a totally new way. The sun on my face in the yard wasn't just warm, it felt like it was healing. The smell of baking bread wasn't just nice, it was a real comfort. And a silly t-shirt that could make Timmy smile on a tough day? That felt like everything.
It was a huge reminder that the real "honey" in life, the sweetness that keeps you going, is found right there in the dirt, in the everyday, in the mud.
And that's really where Honey Rooted began. It’s my way of trying to bottle up that feeling and share it. These are witty, charming goods for people like us, the gardeners, the bakers, the nature seekers, and all the other perfectly imperfect souls who find strength in the simple stuff.
This Journal is going to be my space to share more stories and ideas, just like we're chatting now. For now, I just want to say thank you for being here at the very beginning. It really means the world.
